Big fish, little fish – understanding local economies using interactive visualisations
As the thirst for more local data grows, the Data Science Campus have been exploring ways to convey information in datasets that cannot be published publicly due to their private nature.
What’s the data science?
We have combined economic information from our Inter-Departmental Business Register with other datasets regarding the UK fishing industry such as the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) fleet landings data to produce an interactive visualisation tool that can be used to analyse local activity in the different sectors.
