Ed joined the Campus in April 2023, having previously built data science and analyst teams in many policy and operational areas across government. This included a role as Deputy Director for Demand and Capacity Modelling at NHS Test and Trace.
Ed is responsible for Campus operations, data science projects related to economic policy and our use of technology, including emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLM).
His background is in physics, which probably explains a lot. Outside of work he enjoys cycling and yoga.
We have been exploring how NLP techniques and LLMs could be used in the future to improve website search experience for end-users.

We are planning to follow up on previous work we published earlier this year looking at public transport availability across the UK, by providing metrics for urban centres across the UK, as well as their international counterparts.
