Data Analytics Apprentice

Cerys joined the Data Science Campus as a Data Analytics Apprentice shortly after completing her A Level studies in 2017. At Coleg Y Cymoedd in Nantgarw, Cerys studied Mathematics, French and Psychology, as well as completing the Welsh Baccalaureate. During her studies, Cerys took a particular interest in the Statistics module of the Mathematics course which resulted in her applying for this apprenticeship, rather than following the University route. When Cerys first joined the campus, she soon became familiar with techniques such as Sentiment Analysis and Natural Language Processing when working with large datasets. She has also participated in several activities as a STEM ambassador, inspiring school pupils to consider a career in Maths.
