Adela Iliescu

Graduate Data Scientist

I studied a degree in Psychology, and an MSc and a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience. My PhD research was concerned with a better understanding of learning and behaviour, combining empirical evidence with theoretical development. After finishing my PhD, I worked as a Research Associate at Cardiff University, where I contributed to the development, modelling and testing of a new model of learning and behaviour.
I am interested in using data science to find solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. I am also interested in data ethics and the societal impact of Artificial Intelligence.
In my free time I love travelling, boardgames and keeping active (dog walking, hiking, volleyball).
