Senior Data Scientist
Ioannis has been a Senior Data Scientist at the Data Science Campus since October 2016. He holds a PhD in Optical Fibre Networks, an MSc in Data Science and a MEng in Electronic Systems and Telecommunications.
Before joining the Campus, Ioannis owned an IT company for several years and was a full-time lecturer at the Technological Institute of Kavalla, Greece. He led European funded optical fibre network employments for nine municipalities in Greece, been member in organising committees of numerous conferences and worked as a senior research officer in European Framework projects.
His current interests within the Campus include the application of machine learning techniques in government related projects, data science capability increase across government and the use of open source tools for deep learning and geospatial analysis.
